Dear Community Members,
The past few years has seen many humanitarian concerns. Beginning with the pandemic to natural disasters to radical governments threatening civilian lives.
Regardless of the humanitarian concerns, our community has shown that we can always rely on the generosity of the Muslim Community to step up and provide aid to disadvantaged peoples in affected areas all over the world.
In recent months, the civil war in Sudan has reached a critical point. The warring government factions are now threatening the lives of civilians. Displacing, injuring, or killing thousands of innocent people caught in the crossfire.
Multiple hospitals have been hit, humanitarian facilities looted, and foreign aid groups forced to suspend most of their operations. Tens of thousands of Sudanese have fled to neighbouring countries in an exodus that has sparked warnings of a humanitarian “catastrophe” with implications for the entire region.
Though, both parties had agreed to a ceasefire. The terms of the treaty were once again violated causing widespread violence to break out across the region.
The BC Muslim Association is launching a new campaign to help our brothers and sisters in Sudan. The BCMA International Humanitarian Aid Campaign is seeking financial support to provide aid to those affected by the civil war in Sudan.
We at the BC Muslim Association understand that it can be challenging and fatiguing to know that once we have weathered one issue, another requires our immediate attention. We implore you to find it in your hearts to provide financial aid to those affected by the civil war in Sudan.
I urge you to donate. No amount is too small. Thank you for your generosity. May Allah increase its worth for you and your family.
Muhammad Asad Gondal,
President
The BC Muslim Association
