Fiji Hurricane Relief Fund-Friday Mar 04

Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullah, 
The BC Muslim Association is making an urgent appeal to everyone to please help the brothers and sisters (victims) of the category 5 hurricane that hit the Fiji Islands on Saturday, February 20th, 2016. This was the most powerful storm ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere that slammed into Fiji late Saturday, causing widespread catastrophic damage including flooding, power outages and structural damage to schools, commercial buildings and homes. Many have been traumatised by Hurricane Winston.
The Relief Funds will be used to help the affected families by providing the basic necessities of life (food, water, shelter), and medical supplies.
All Branches and Chapters are requested to do the following:
1.           Please make announcements this Jumu’ah that next Friday’s March 04thcollection will be dedicated for Fiji Relief Fund;
2.           Put out cash money boxes clearly marked FIJI RELIEF FUND at all centers;
3.           All cheques are payable to the BC Muslim Association;
4.           Issue tax deductible receipts for Fiji Relief Fund;
5.           Deposit the Fiji Relief Funds into your Zakat account;
6.           Inform head office via email of total amount collected towards Fiji Relief Fund.
 
We will forward these funds to the needy through the appropriate registered government agencies according to Canada Revenue Agency regulations.
